Syd Field, author of 'Screenplay', assures his reader, 'Writing is the ability to ask yourself questions and wait for the answers', Field advises, when asking creative questions, not to begin with why, but with what. Why questions bring many answers, and they may all be correct. What questions; bring a more specific response. Harder to phrase, this is good. Slower to answer, also good. In the studio there is continual questioning.
